Privacy policy
Last updated November 4, 2026
You can read everything on VoteTide without an account. If you sign in, we keep only what we need to run comments and the feed, and you can delete it at any time.
If you just read the site
- We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other sites.
- Some pages show ads from Google AdSense, which may use cookies to show and measure ads. You can manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- “My map” picks and similar settings are saved in your own browser, not on our servers.
If you sign in
You can sign in with Google or with a link sent to your email. We store:
- Your email address, used only to sign you in. It is never shown publicly, sold or used for marketing.
- Your name from Google (you can change or remove it), your username, and when you joined.
- What you post, like and report on VoteTide. Posts and your username are public; likes are counted but not listed by name; reports are seen only by moderators.
When you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email address and profile picture (which we don't display or store). We don't get access to your Google account, contacts, Gmail or anything else.
Who processes the data
- Supabase hosts the accounts database and handles sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Google provides Google sign-in and AdSense ads.
We don't sell personal data or share it with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Deleting your data
Go to your account page and choose “Delete account”. Your account, posts, likes and reports are removed right away. Posts that moderators removed for breaking the community rules are deleted along with the account.
Safety
VoteTide is not meant for children under 13, and they shouldn't create an account.
